What is Freaky Links?
Freaky Links is a thirteen episode television show that debuted on FOX in 2000 about a young man who hosts a website entitled freakylinks.com that showcases a world of paranormal anomaly's, unknown creatures, and strange events. Derek Barnes, the shows protagonist, occasionally went out and documented the supernatural, where he then featured it on his site and allowed others interested in what he had to say discuss it in the websites form. In the beginning of the series, you find out that Derek had a twin brother by the name of Adam who was more into the unknown than he, but because of the strange death of his brother, Derek kept the site going by renaming it and giving it its own server to pay tribute. When he received an email featuring a video of Adam, Derek began meddling with things that slowly began connecting the truth together. The more he stirred up the supernatural and featured it online, the closer he came to its connections to uncovering his brother's mysterious death...

Months before the shows initial release on TV, the website (then www.freakylinks.com) debuted and convinced many people that the show had been based on real events and was merely copying the strange life of webmaster Derek and his site.

Unfortunately for fans of the show, the series ended after low ratings caused the show to never finish its dynamic and intriguing story.
